MLB Digital headend
In early 2013 Major Leauge Ball Network came to Toner to upgrade their 200 channel headend to digital at their main transmission facility for baseball games nationwide. They needed to upgrade to High Definition using MPEG 2HD encoders. Having suffered damage during huricane Sandy, the project was under tight time constraints prior to the start of the 2013 season.
Toner ended up supplying 55 Blonder Tongue HDE-4S-QAM MPEG2 four program HD encoders. These were selected due to performance as well as the size. The HDE-4S has four HD encoders in a 1 RU chassis, this was very important to MLB due to serious space constraints.
After delivering the equipment to MLB, Toner then sent two field technicians to install, commission and program the system. While on site Toner also helped MLB with their internal fiber and coax distribution system, ensuring reliable reception throughout the facility.Back to Accomplishments
