Memorial: Norm Bergey February 13, 1956 - February 7, 2017
Toner pays tribute to a long time co-worker/friend. Norm joined Toner Cable Equipment, Inc. on February 14, 1975 in our warehouse and shipping department.
In these 41 years, Norm became the go to guy whenever anybody had a question about an order being shipped or what a customer bought.
He was faster and better than any computer. He would take a pick ticket to the sales person and say "this customer doesn't buy this item, he buys this one" and tell us the model. He did this hundreds or thousands of times. You would think we would learn!
Over the years when someone had a question about a product, Bob Toner would say "Let's ask Norm" and sure enough, Norm had the correct answer.
Norm also had the best penmanship of anybody anywhere, he was our in house sign man and everyone knew when Norm made us a sign.
Norm was also very dedicated to his job and Toner Cable Equipment, Inc until he was diagnosed with cancer, he was never sick. He would often go 2, 3 or even 4 years without a sick day.
Norm was a great guy, he always had a smile for you and a friendly hello! Nobody ever heard Norm say anything negative about anybody.
We all will miss Norm and know that he is now in a better place and probably looking down on us saying "It won't fit in that box"!Back to News
