The PDXT8 is an advanced IP transcoding system designed for use in digital headends. The unit is ideal for conversion of MPEG-4/H.264 program for MPEG-2 systems, or for conversion of MPEG-2 inputs to MPEG-4 for bandwidth savings. The PDXT8 can also be used for 1080i to 720p or 720p to 1080i conversion for improved compatibility or bandwidth savings. Audio transcoding includes AAC, MP2 and AC3 – any to any. HD to SD downconversion is also supported. The unit supports 4 HD input streams or 8 SD input streams. The input has 6 ASI input ports and up to 8 IP streams. The IP input can be MPTS or SPTS. Output is available as MPTS on ASI, MPTS on IP or up to 8 IP SPTS streams.
